How Suri Gained her Wings

On a beautiful winter snowy day and angel was born. February 18th, 2009, Suri Oliva Boon blessed this earth. Her mother Lisa and father Jarrod welcomed the new addition to their family.

Suri was full of life and personality. A go getter and over achiever from the day she was born.
A happy healthy, beautiful princess began to show signs that something just wasn't right.
On June 28th 2009, Suri was diagnosed with AT/RT (a form of aggressive malignant brain tumors.) She underwent surgery on July 1 ( to put in a shunt), July 3 and July 10th (craniotomy tumor resections) with great success.

At the end of July she began her induction rounds of high dose chemotherapy. Suri underwent 5 rounds of chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, and was subjected to numerous needles, poke and procedures.

Every step of the way she was a fighter. No matter how sick this baby girl was, she graced every visitor with a smile, and she had a giggle that would lift any spirit. She truly lived up to the meaning of her name - sunshine.

In November 2009, Suri suddenly showed signs of a respiratory complication due to the chemotherapy drugs. The drugs used to cure her cancer had in-turn attacked her lungs.

On December 2nd, 2009 Suri gained her angel wings. She went to heaven, and left her family at only 9 months old.

Although she is gone her smile still lives on in our memories.
